I did IT!!!! SOCKS!

Yippee! I made a pair of socks! My first ever!

I used the Cascade with elastic in it. I can't rememeber the name right now. Such excitement! I bought this sock yarn at least a year ago and have never been able to figure the sock thing out! I love short rows...how easy!

Knit Mitt Kit Questions! And some answers

The Questionnaire:
Are you allergic to any fibers? Nope!
What are your favorite colors? Pink, Orange, heck almost anything!
Are you a new mitt knitter? How long have you been knitting mittens? I have finished 4 pairs! Yippee! (can't seem to get the sock thing, but baby my hands will be warm!)
Do you prefer solid or multicolored yarn? I just love all yarn (Ok, maybe not acrylic!)
What fibers do you prefer in mitten yarn? I have tried quite a few different, but wool seems to be the fav

Where do you usually knit mittens? On the couch or loveseat in my living room, where the wood burner is!

How do you usually carry/store small projects? I usually pack small ones in clear no personality zippered bags, like from sheets or other things! All packed in a big bag!

What are your favorite mitten patterns? Mixed colors, like the Knitting Nature Mitts. I have made 3 pairs!

What are your favorite mitten knitting techniques? Ummm, I must be too new to know this answer!

What new techniques would you like to try? Ummm, again must be too new, but I know that I do not get Thrummed!

What are your favorite needles for knitting mittens? Bamboo dpns!

What are some of your favorite yarns? I love the variety of yarn. I love the different colors and textures. I think that is why I knit!

What yarn do you totally covet? Always Cashmere, but hate to wear it because it is nice!

Any pattern you would love to make if money and time were no object?   Oh, wow, now there is a list! I really like the multicolored scarf from Scarf Style!

Favorite kind of needles (brand, materials, straights or circs, etc)? I like the addis, but have never completed anything on them (I bought sock needles...) And I love Bamboo the best!

If you were a specific kind of yarn, which brand and kind of yarn would you be? Right now I am looking for the perfect varigated coffee browns in a super soft skein. (But next week it could be something different!)

Do you have a favorite candy or mail-able snack? Chocolate!!!!

What’s your favorite animal? Right, now, my puppy! A Red and white Border Collie (Of course, when he is bad...he is very bad! But still cute!)

Would you prefer super warm mittens or something more like fingerless mitts?

If you were a color what color would you be? Ummm, no answer here. I teach Art. They are all pretty important to me. But I don't really like Purples. Weird, huh?


What is your most inspiring image, flower, or object in nature? I live in the woods, in a rual area. Pretty much all of it! But I really missed not having a real fall with the leaves changing. (Got too cold and nasty to quick to get to enjoy it! They are all on the ground!)


Do you have a wishlist? Not really, can't even seem to make a Christmas list for the family yet!

The Stone has Passed!

Odd title, I know! But it seems we have been super busy and then BAM! Kidney stone, UGH! Had a miserable week, but it passed late Saturday night! Yippee! Still feel a bit icky, but hey it is gone! Life is good! Now it is time to play catch up!
The dog has been busy chewing up everything, but he really is getting better. We take our first vet visit tomorrow...Hubby gets to do that one!

                                        

He is actually making friends with the other Ark members! (of course, when he is tired and not interested in chewing or dragging the poor kitten!)

Started offically Christmas shopping yesterday during the National Day of Giving (Not really sure what that means the Kid was selling the tickets for charity!) Made a nice dent on the list! Almost finished with the kid!!!! She is so spoiled!

In the knitting world, I already bought my desk calendar....Knitting! Too funny! I finished my mittens for my first mitten buddy, my scarf for my funky scarf swap buddy, and another scarf for a Christmas gift! Whewww! Not posting any pics yet, not sure who is lurking!!!
